What it's like on tryout day
Your coaches are on their feet with a couple hundred kids in the gym, and the Wi-Fi usually cuts out somewhere. Callback is set up for that.
Two taps per rating
Each coach sees a grid of shirt numbers. They tap a player's number, then a score from 1 to 5.
Keeps working with no Wi-Fi
Ratings save on the iPhone or iPad as soon as a coach taps them. When the device gets a signal again, they upload on their own.
Set the skill for the drill
If the drill is serving, set the focus to serving. Each number gets a check once it's rated, so coaches can see who they still need to watch.
Rankings while tryouts are still going
Scores from all your courts and coaches add up as they come in. When the last session ends you'll have rankings by position, 6v6 court placement and an offer list.

How much does Callback cost?
Each module has its own price, all on one club account. Tryouts is a flat yearly price based on how many athletes you have: $225 for up to 100, $495 for up to 150, $895 for up to 400 and $1,495 for unlimited. Every tier has all the features. Leagues is $495 a year, or $295 if you also have Tryouts. Lessons is $5 per completed lesson, billed monthly, with no subscription. Registrations is free to use, with a 2.5% fee on paid registrations ($1 minimum). Practice Planner is included with Tryouts, or $195 a year on its own, with no trial. Tryouts and Leagues come with a free 30-day trial, and we'll stretch the Tryouts trial to cover your tryout dates.
What devices do evaluators need?
Each evaluator needs an iPhone or iPad with the free Callback app from the App Store. Directors use the dashboard in any web browser at callbacksports.com, so there's nothing to install for that.
Does it really work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Each rating saves on the device as soon as it's tapped and uploads by itself when the device gets a connection again. A dead corner of the gym won't cost you any scores.
Who owns our tryout data?
Your club does. Your data is private to your club. We don't run ads or tracking, we don't sell data, and we never mix one club's data with another's. Coaches only see their own ratings, and you can export your rankings and offers while Tryouts is on for your club, including during the trial.
Can we use our own rating categories and scale?
Yes. You choose the skills, set weights by position, and use the rating scale you already use.
How does our registration data get into Callback?
You import the spreadsheet you already keep, with age groups, shirt numbers, positions, wristband groups and check-ins. Coaches can start rating that same afternoon, and nobody has to retype anything.
Does Callback keep player history across seasons?
Yes. Tryouts are organized by season, so when a player comes back the next year, their earlier evaluations are still there.
Is Callback on the App Store?
Yes, it's on the Apple App Store. Your club sets up the coach and evaluator accounts, so only your people can sign in.
Is Callback only for volleyball?
Volleyball is what we built it around. The position weights and 6v6 court placement are volleyball-specific. The rating and ranking part works for any club sport that runs tryouts.
